Silvia Moi studied at the Norwegian Academy of Music, the University College of Opera in Stockholm and the Royal College of Music in London. During her studies she debuted at the Folkoperan in Stockholm in the role of Oscar in Verdi’s A Masked Ball. The same year she played Despina in Cosi fan tutte in Germany and Denmark with Manfred Honeck.
She also appeared as Katie in the newly written opera Kastrater by Miklós Maros at the Drottningholm Palace Theatre. In 2005 Silvia played Lucy in The Rape of Lucretia and Despina in Cosi fan tutte at the Benjamin Britten Opera School in London.

She performed the role of Ninetta in Mozart’s La finta semplice and Bettina/Lauretta in L`oca del Cairo in the Salzburg Festival in 2006. She also played Susanna in The Marriage of Figaro at the Malmö Opera and made her debut at the Norwegian National Opera in the role of Servilia in La clemenza di Tito.

In 2007 she sang the role of Susanna from The Marriage of Figaro with the London-based Classical Opera Company and began a short-term engagement with the Norwegian National Opera with the roles of Oscar in A Masked Ball and Dama di Lady Macbeth in Macbeth.
The engagement with the Norwegian National Opera continued into 2008 with the roles of Tebaldo in Don Carlos, Adele in Die Fledermaus and the Fifth Maid in Elektra, as well as Servilia in La clemenza di Tito.
At the same time she sang Nanetta in Falstaff at the Royal Swedish Opera in Stockholm. In 2009 the played Despina in Cosi fan tutte with the Malmö Symphony Orchestra and continued at the Norwegian National Opera with Frasquita in Carmen.

In 2009 she had the female lead role Norina in Don Pasquale and in 2010 she played Echo in Ariadne auf Naxos, Lucia in The rape of Lucretia, Susanna in Forhekset, 1 nice in Peter Grimes. In 2011 she did Adele in Die Fledermaus at Komische Oper Berlin, Oscar in Un ballo di machera, Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro.
The following year 2012 Silvia did Adele in Die Fledermaus at the Royal operahouse in Stockholm, 1.nice in Peter Grimes in Savonlinna music festival. In 2013 she did Rosina in Il barbiere di siviglia at DNO.

Between opera roles Silvia has had time to appear as a soloist with all the major Norwegian symphony orchestras, played the roles of Solveig at the Peer Gynt Festival in Gålå and Papagena in Kenneth Branagh’s film production of The Magic Flute. She has also worked with conductors and directors such as Jonathan Miller, Peter Konwitchny, Alan Gilbert and Manfred Honeck.

Of TV appearances the Nobel banquet in Stockholm in 2004 and the opening performance of the Opera House in Bjørvika in Oslo should be mentioned. Silvia Moi has received several prestigious scholarships, including the StatoilHydro scholarship for classical musicians, the Sparebanken Pluss arts scholarship, the Andes Wall Prize, the TSO Sisters in Stockholm artist scholarship, the Musikkens Venner Debut Prize, the Joel Berglund Scholarship and the Musikaliska Akademien Scholarship.
